Use public transport

NBL: Illawarra Hawks v Sydney Kings at WIN Entertainment Centre. Tip-off at 7:30pm, full time around 9:30pm.

Traffic will be heavier than usual as fans travel to the match during the evening peak.

Allow extra travel time on roads including Burelli St, Corrimal St, Stewart St and Crown St.

Fans driving to the game on the freeway are encouraged to use the Masters Rd exit to avoid congestion at Mount Ousley Rd, both in and out of Wollongong.

Allow extra travel time for parking and be aware of increased pedestrian activity on local roads.

Advice

The M1 Princes Motorway will be closed southbound between Helensburgh and Waterfall between 8pm and 4am from Sunday 2 to Thursday 6 February.

Detours will be in place.

Traffic controllers will be on site to direct motorists.

Motorists are advised to allow approximately 10 minutes of additional travel time.

Vehicles over 4.9 metres will be escorted through the work site and are to call UHF28 on approach and follow the directions of traffic control.

Diversions

Vehicles will be detoured via the Princes Highway.

Please note this detour route has a height restriction of 4.9 metres.

Plan your journey

Mount Ousley Road will be closed in both directions between Bulli Tops and Gwenyville from 8pm to 4am.

Mount Ousley Road will be closed at Gaynor Avenue. Local access to Mount Ousley Road between the Princes Highway and Gowan Brae Avenue will be maintained. 

Picton Road between Almond Street and M1 Princes Motorway will also be closed.

Diversions

Motorists travelling between Wollongong and Bulli Tops will be detoured via Memorial Drive and Bulli Pass and should allow up to 15 minutes additional travel time. 

Motorists travelling between Wollongong and the Hume Motorway will be detoured via Memorial Drive, Bulli Pass and Appin Road, and should allow up to 40 minutes additional travel time.

Light vehicles can also use Wilton Road (Broughton Pass) between Appin Road and Picton Road or the Illawarra Highway (Macquarie Pass).

These detours are not suitable for any OSOM vehicle or any vehicle exceeding 19 metres and/or 50.5 tonnes. Operators of these vehicles are advised to delay their journey as no alternative detour is available.
